Frequently asked questions

What is Revrse?

Revrse is a platform for early-stage sustainability projects. We help students, grassroots teams, researchers and community-led initiatives make practical work more visible, credible and easier to support.

Who can start a project?

Students, volunteers, researchers, grassroots teams, community groups and NGOs can start projects on Revrse. We welcome early-stage work across climate, waste, water, biodiversity, sustainability education and related areas.

Do projects need to be fully developed before they are submitted?

No. Projects do not need to be fully polished before they are submitted. What matters most is a clear problem, a practical first step and an honest description of the support needed.

What information do I need to submit a project?

We ask for the basics needed to understand the project clearly: a title, short summary, the problem being addressed, what you want to do first, the support needed, focus area and location. You can also add optional details such as milestones, local context, mentoring needs and a funding goal.

How does project review work?

Projects go through a light review for clarity and authenticity before they appear publicly. The goal is not heavy gatekeeping, but making early-stage work easier for others to understand and support with confidence.

Do you fund projects directly?

Revrse does not directly fund projects. We help projects become more visible and support-ready so that individuals, institutions and other partners can discover and contribute to them.

Can projects show progress over time?

Yes. Project owners can share updates over time so supporters can see how the work is developing. This helps make early-stage projects more transparent and easier to follow.

Can I set a funding goal?

Yes. Projects can include a funding goal, but it is optional. If a goal is added, the project page can show contributions received and the amount still left to raise.

Are project submissions free?

Yes. Submitting a project on Revrse is free.

Are there any fees when someone contributes to a project?

Yes. Revrse currently applies a 2% platform fee (plus any GST) on contributions, and payment processing is shown separately at checkout. This helps support the platform infrastructure around project visibility, review and trust.

What kinds of support can projects ask for?

Projects can ask for different kinds of support depending on their stage. This may include funding, mentoring, materials, lab access, collaborators, volunteers, field support or other practical help.

Can mentors or institutions be involved?

Yes. Projects can indicate whether they are student-led, institution-linked or in need of mentoring. Revrse is being shaped to help connect promising work with the right kinds of support, not only funding.

Which areas does Revrse focus on?

Revrse currently focuses on sustainability-related work across climate, waste, water, biodiversity, ecosystems, circularity and sustainability education, especially where ideas are practical, locally relevant and early-stage.

How do you handle data and privacy?

We collect only the information needed to present projects clearly and connect them with support. Public project pages are designed to focus on the project, while sensitive or unnecessary personal information should not be shared publicly.

How can institutions, NGOs or CSR teams partner with Revrse?

Institutions, NGOs and CSR teams can partner with Revrse to discover projects, support thematic areas, collaborate on reviews, mentor early-stage work or build stronger pathways for practical sustainability initiatives.
